10 September 2024 — seat of government.

The Hague is the seat of the Dutch government and the monarch's residence without being the capital, an arrangement that dates to the Republic. The Binnenhof at its centre is a medieval castle complex that has housed the parliament continuously since the thirteenth century, and the city also holds the International Court of Justice in the Peace Palace.
