Markaz al Badrashayn, Giza, Egypt
Fourteen days up the Nile, February 2026.
Cairo to Abu Simbel by road, river and air over two weeks in February 2026 — Old Kingdom pyramids on the Giza and Saqqara plateaus, the Ptolemaic temples of the south, and the New Kingdom monuments of Thebes. Shot on a Sony a7R IV, mostly at 24-105mm and often at high ISO: temple interiors are dark, tripods are not permitted at most sites, and the light that reaches the reliefs still comes through clerestory slots cut three thousand years ago.
