Philae, relocated to Agilkia Island.

Philae was submerged for most of each year after the first Aswan dam was built in 1902, and visitors rowed over the temple looking down through the water at the capitals. Between 1972 and 1980 the whole complex was moved to Agilkia Island, which was reshaped to match the original. This was among the last functioning ancient Egyptian sanctuaries, still in use into the sixth century — the final dated hieroglyphic inscription anywhere was carved on this island.
