Rotterdam, Netherlands, Netherlands
8–9 September 2024 — the rebuilt city.
The centre of Rotterdam was destroyed by bombing in May 1940, and the decision afterwards was to rebuild forward rather than restore. The result is the least old-Dutch city in the Netherlands and the most architecturally adventurous — cube houses, the Markthal's arched interior, and Europe's largest port working just downstream.
