Kom Ombo Temple

Split precisely down its axis: the southern half for Sobek the crocodile god, the northern for Haroeris, with duplicated sanctuaries, halls and doorways so that neither god took precedence. A wall relief here shows what are usually read as surgical instruments — scalpels, forceps, a birthing chair. The adjoining museum holds crocodile mummies recovered from the site.
